The Puppets

Gary Mulvaney, Conservative, Alan Reid, Liberal Democrat, Mike Mackenzie, SNP, Elaine Morrison, Scottish Green Party, David Graham, Scottish Labour Party, five politicians dancing to the tune of their political masters at The Helensburgh Hustings. An event organised by The Helensburgh CND, who don't believe in democracy.
The Helensburgh Five are constrained by their party's manifesto which is designed to appeal to the British or Scottish voter, not the voter of Argyll and Bute
As the leader of The Scottish Jacobite Party, I can speak my mind and discuss issues that affect people living in Argyll and Bute and living in Helensburgh. I went to school at the Hermitage Academy and first featured in the Victoria Halls when I got the prize as third year Dux from the headmaster, George Mutch.
I was not allowed on the platform with the other five candidates. I was allowed to sit in the front row, but, I was not allowed to speak.
The Puppets were the performers on the night. Puppets controlled by the invisible hand of their political betters.
Elect one of these puppets and they can't and won't represent your views in Westminster. It just isn't allowed in a party political system where votes are whipped and elected representatives are forced to follow the dictats of their party leaders.
Have you seen Gordon Brown, David Cameron or Nick Clegg in Argyll and Bute recently? Do you think they care about us?
The CND celebrated the 25th Anniversay of Greenham Common by having a year long protest at Faslane gates. They attempted to change government policy, not through the ballot box but by intimidation. Policing the event cost the local community £6 million and caused major disruption to the lives of those living on the Rosneath Peninsula and Garelochead.
I'm not worthy
It's official.
I don't think The TV Debates are legal. We don't have a Presidential form of government in this country. We elect local candidates and the party with the most seats in parliament is asked to form a government. Nobody in Argyll and Bute can vote for Gordon Brown, David Cameron or Nick Clegg.
I wrote to Ofcom who are supposed to regulate TV coverage to suggest that there were seven candidates in Argyll and Bute and only three of these candidates were benefiting from the TV Debate and debates about the Debates being beamed into Argyll and Bute homes.
In the considered opinion of Ofcom, The Scottish Jacobite Party does not have "significant views or perspectives"
So, it's official. I'm not worthy of sitting on the platform at The Victoria Halls as a candidate for Argyll and Bute. I'm not worthy of being on TV to explain the ideas, views and perspectives of The Scottish Jacobite Party to the voters of Argyll and Bute who being thinking individuals may come to the wrong conclusion and vote for

John Black, The Scottish Jacobite Party

who comes with no strings attached.
