There are new traffic lights at Barloan Roundabout in Dumbarton. The timing of the lights is way off and they are causing traffic chaos in north west Dumbarton

Turn the lights off

When I passed by at noon yesterday, all of the Council workers who should have been monitoring the situation must have been on their lunch break. Not a yellow jacket to be seen.

Somebody needs to do an analysis to arrive at the optimum settings for the predicted traffic. There have to be simulators for that sort of thing.

Work out the right timing. Try it out at off-peak times with careful monitoring and then roll it out round the clock, again with careful monitoring of the effects on traffic flow.

If there are problems, turn the lights off and go back to the drawing board
