The UK is converting from analog to digital TV transmission. This is being done in Regional phases throughout the country with the Borders Region
the first to switch in 2008.
My aunt lives in the Borders Region and was being inundated with mail pieces and TV spots advertising the change.
Her TV set was 17 years old and wasn't compatible with set top boxes. She bought a new TV in Curry's in Berwick and had
problems with the remote control. Problems which Curry's weren't interested in dealing with after the sale.
Sorting this out took 17 1/2 hours of my time and 390 miles of travel.
The total cost works out at
£375.60.
